The TowNStow Bunkster kayak cart is manufactured from high-quality, UV-resistant injection-molded polymers and anodized aluminum tubing, and is assembled with stainless steel hardware.
The Bunkster features two fixed uprights configured in a "bunk-style" setup, where the bars are parallel to the hull of your vessel, which accommodates many modern kayak hull shapes.
The uprights can be easily repositioned along the axle to maximize compatibility with different kayak widths and hull body lines.
The axle features six bunk positions ranging from 15 cm to 40 cm wide.
Super-grip pads and tie-downs
Securing a kayak to the Bunkster with straps can be different for every kayak model, so like the TowNStow BarCart, the Bunkster has a built-in tie-down point located in the center of the axle.
The tie-down point is designed for 1" flat webbing cam straps (not included), but you can also use rope with a diameter of less than 5/16".
A distinct difference you will find compared to the BeadLoc hard surface tires is that the Sand tires do not feature the integrated tie-down point at the end of the wheel hub.
For extra grip on the underside of your kayak, the Bunkster includes four super-"grippy" rubber pads.
For long-term durability, we chose to design press-on rubber pads instead of regular foam.
Wheels
Included are two air-filled balloon tires mounted on an injection-molded, two-piece wheel.
The air-filled tires are optimized for various soft surfaces, including sand and mud, and yes, they are YakAttack Orange.
The wheels feature sealed hubs to keep out sand and grit.
Like the BeadLoc wheels, they snap easily into place and are removed by the push of a button, and they are interchangeable.
Storage and components
Many anglers have set up their kayaks in the boat ramp parking lot, then transported them to the water's edge, but taking it back to their vehicle is not always an option.
This leaves your kayak and gear unattended and susceptible to theft.
The Bunkster was designed to be disassembled completely and without the need for tools.
The wheels are removed by pressing the button behind the hub on the axle and can be done in seconds.
The fixed uprights are removed by lifting the orange position lever and sliding them off the axle.
Everything except the centralized tie-down point can be removed from the aluminum axle, leaving you with five pieces that can be stored in most hatches.
The Bunkster comes with two kickstands, configured with one on each side to optimize and support the loading angle for both sides of the cart.
